About Liquid AI
Spun out of MIT CSAIL, we build general-purpose AI systems that run efficiently across deployment targets, from data center accelerators to on-device hardware, ensuring low latency, minimal memory usage, privacy, and reliability. We partner with enterprises across consumer electronics, automotive, life sciences, and financial services. We are scaling rapidly and need exceptional people to help us get there.
The Opportunity
This is a rare chance to apply frontier sequential recommendation architectures to real enterprise problems at scale. You will own applied ML work end-to-end for recommendation system workloads, adapting Liquid Foundation Models for customers who need personalization and ranking capabilities that run efficiently under production constraints.
Unlike most recommendation roles that are siloed into a single product surface, this role gives you full ownership over how large-scale recommendation models are adapted, evaluated, and deployed for enterprise customers. Between engagements, you will build reusable applied tooling and workflows that accelerate future delivery.
If you care about data quality at scale, user behavior modeling, and making recommendation systems actually work in enterprise production environments, this is the role.
What Weâre Looking For
We need someone who:
Takes ownership: Owns customer recommendation system engagements end-to-end, from requirements through delivery and evaluation.
Thinks at scale: Can reason about user interaction data, sequential modeling, feature engineering, and evaluation across large-scale production systems.
Is pragmatic: Optimizes for measurable customer outcomes (engagement, conversion, revenue lift) over theoretical novelty.
Communicates clearly: Can translate between customer business metrics and internal technical decisions, and push back when needed.
The Work
Act as the technical owner for enterprise customer engagements involving recommendation and ranking workloads
Translate customer requirements into concrete specifications for recommendation models
Design and execute data pipelines for user interaction data, feature engineering, and training data curation at scale
Fine-tune and adapt large-scale sequential recommendation models (e.g., HSTU-style architectures) for customer-specific use cases
Design task-specific evaluations for recommendation model performance (ranking quality, latency, throughput) and interpret results
Build reusable applied tooling and workflows that accelerate future customer engagements
Desired Experience
Must-have:
Hands-on experience building or fine-tuning recommendation models at scale (not just off-the-shelf collaborative filtering)
Experience with sequential recommendation architectures, user behavior modeling, or large-scale ranking systems
Strong intuition for data quality and evaluation design in recommendation contexts (offline metrics, A/B testing, business metric alignment)
Experience with large-scale data pipelines for user interaction data and feature engineering
Proficiency in Python and PyTorch with autonomous coding and debugging ability
Nice-to-have:
Experience with transformer-based recommendation architectures (HSTU, SASRec, BERT4Rec, or similar)
Experience delivering recommendation systems to external customers with measurable business outcomes
Familiarity with serving recommendation models under latency and throughput constraints
What Success Looks Like (Year One)
Independently owns and delivers enterprise recommendation system engagements with minimal oversight
Is trusted by customers as the technical owner, demonstrating strong judgment on the tradeoffs between model quality, latency, and business impact
Has built reusable applied workflows or tooling that accelerate future customer engagements
What We Offer
Real ML work: You will build and adapt large-scale recommendation models for enterprise customers, working with frontier architectures like HSTU under real production constraints.
Compensation: Competitive base salary with equity in a unicorn-stage company
Health: We pay 100% of medical, dental, and vision premiums for employees and dependents
Financial: 401(k) matching up to 4% of base pay
Time Off: Unlimited PTO plus company-wide Refill Days throughout the year

Job Description
As the Director of Sales Development, you'll set the targets, the operating model, and the standard for the entire XDR org, then build the leadership layer that runs it. The work isn't managing a room full of reps. It's building the people who build the pipeline: hiring, developing, and holding accountable the managers and team leads beneath you, so the function gets stronger whether or not you're in the room.
The stakes are straightforward. Leadership builds revenue plans on the number you deliver. That means owning capacity and ramp so pipeline scales in step with company goals, defending a forecast quarter after quarter with no asterisks, and getting Marketing, Sales, and RevOps aligned on what a qualified opportunity actually means. You own the stack and the spend too: pick the tooling and budget that make the team faster, and prove the return.
This is a seat for someone who wants to own outcomes, not activity reports. If you've built and scaled a sales development function before, know the difference between a team that's busy and one that's productive, and want your work to show up directly in how INNERGY plans its future, we should talk.d.
What you'll do
- Own the function. Set the strategy, targets, and operating model for the entire sales development org.
- Build the leaders. Hire, develop, and hold accountable the managers and team leads beneath you.
- Plan the capacity. Own the headcount and ramp model so pipeline scales in step with company goals.
- Defend the forecast. Deliver a pipeline number leadership can build revenue plans around, quarter after quarter.
- Align the org. Partner with Marketing, Sales, and RevOps on segmentation, routing, and the definition of a qualified opportunity.
- Own the stack and the spend. Choose the tooling and budget that make the team more efficient, and prove the return.
- 6+ years in sales development, including two+ years managing managers or running a multi-team function.
- Experience standing up and/or scaling sales development (SDR, BDR, or XDR) across multiple regions teams that consistently hit pipeline targets.
- Fluency in funnel economics: pipeline created, conversion rates, and team attainment against targets.
- You build a management bench, not just a rep bench; people you developed now lead teams of their own.
- Comfort operating alongside executives and owning a number in the room where revenue gets planned.
- You have scaled a sales-development function through a major growth inflection.
- Background in ERP, vertical SaaS, or selling into manufacturing and construction.

What does 'fast-paced environment' actually mean for my day to day?

Seeing 'fast-paced environment' in a job posting usually makes your stomach drop because it sounds like a recipe for instant burnout. I will show you how to decode this phrase so you can spot the warning signs and prove you can handle the actual work. You will walk away with a concrete strategy to turn this vague requirement into your biggest unfair advantage.
They need I can prove Scale a team Cut churn Ship fast Hired 9 Cut it 22% Weekly ships line them up first
FIG. 02Before I write a single line, I draw two columns: what they need on the left, what I can prove on the right. Then I draw lines connecting them. The gaps that have no line tell me exactly what to address in the cover note.
- 01 Is 'fast-paced' just code for understaffed and chaotic?
I see this constantly. Startups use this phrase because they are building the plane while flying it, while larger companies use it to excuse their broken internal processes. It is a structural reality.
You need to ask the hiring manager how they prioritize projects when everything is labeled urgent. Ask them to describe a week when a major goal shifted mid-flight.
- 02
Prove your capability by sharing specific examples of times you managed competing deadlines, made decisions with limited data, and built your own templates to survive. You must demonstrate that you do not need a perfect manual to execute your daily tasks and deliver real results.
Most prep advice is useless because it tells you to say you love speed. Do not do that. Instead, give them a concrete example, like how you managed a sudden product launch delay by shifting your team's focus to customer documentation.
For example, a customer support lead could explain how they handled a forty percent spike in tickets without extra budget by building a temporary automated triage system.
fifty generic five sharp ones weight wins, not stack height
FIG. 03I weighed fifty generic applications against five sharp ones, and the five tailored to the role still tipped the scale. Fit carries more than sheer count. Build this for your role.Paste a real posting, get the 12 page plan. First draft free.Start free
- 03 What are the red flags to watch out for in the interview?
I want you to listen to their vocabulary. If they use words like firefighting or wearing many hats too often, run.
Here is your honest caveat. A strategic blueprint can prepare you for the interview, but it cannot fix a toxic boss once you take the job. You must use the interview to screen them just as much as they screen you.
- 04
A structured plan addresses this by showing the hiring manager you know how to onboard yourself without draining their limited time or resources. It proves you can identify quick wins, map out key stakeholders, and establish your own workflow within your first month on the job.
This is where the Baldwin Blueprint comes in. When you walk in with a 30/60/90 day plan built from their actual job posting, you show them you do not need hand-holding.
You are telling them, I see the chaos, and here is exactly how I plan to organize my first ninety days to relieve your pressure.
Worked example
- STAR answer
I work really well under pressure and I am used to fast-paced environments where things change quickly.
After
When our main supplier shut down with zero notice, I did not wait for leadership to act. I built a temporary tracking sheet, sourced three local backup vendors within forty-eight hours, and kept our production line running without a single hour of downtime.
How to handle 'fast-paced' in your application What most people do What actually works Write generic resume bullets about multitasking Quantify how you managed shifting priorities and tight deadlines Nod and say you love a challenge during the interview Ask how the team handles resource constraints and shifting goals Wait for the company to train you on their systems Present a 30/60/90 day plan showing how you will onboard yourself
The takeaways
- 01Fast-paced usually means shifting priorities and limited resources.
- 02Prove you can self-manage with concrete, quantified examples.
- 03Use the interview to screen for toxic, disorganized environments.
- 04A 30/60/90 day plan shows you do not need hand-holding.
Does fast-paced always mean I will have to work overtime?
Not always, but it usually means your working hours will be intense and highly focused. It often points to poor project management, which can bleed into your personal time if you do not set firm boundaries early in your tenure.
Is Baldwin Blueprint just a fancy cover letter generator?
No, it is a comprehensive twelve page strategic document that includes an Impact Memo, Account Map, and 30/60/90 day plan. It does not write generic cover letters. It analyzes the actual job posting to build a concrete execution plan you can use in your interview.
How do I ask about work-life balance without sounding lazy?
Ask how the team prioritizes work when everything is urgent. A good manager will explain their triage process, while a bad one will tell you that everything simply has to get done, which is your cue to walk away.
